FFBC: Guest Post by Jennifer Walkup and GIVEAWAY

FFBC: Guest Post by Jennifer Walkup and GIVEAWAY

I’m thrilled to have Jennifer Walkup here today. She’s listed 10 things that people wouldn’t normally guess about her. I love hearing about the little things that make people interesting. Jennifer picked some great ones too. I love to read but I feel more connected to authors when i feel like I know them. I’m starting This Ordinary Life today and I after reading Jennifer’s list I can’t wait!  10 things people wouldn’t guess about me This Ordinary Life is my second book published, but my sixth book written. My favorite color is yellow. Bright yellow, like sunshine yellow. My favorite pizza topping is broccoli and fresh garlic. It’s so good, trust me! 13 is my lucky number. I love writing on trains (which I wish I had opportunity to do more often). I love Halloween. ItÂ’s my absolute favorite day of the year! I have never read or seen any of the Harry Potter books or movies. (I know, I know, itÂ’s crazy! I need to get around to it sooner or later!) I have three tattoos. If I had to choose between never reading again and never writing again, I couldnÂ’t do it! I donÂ’t watch TV and therefore have no idea what most people are talking about much of the time. Ha!   Award-winning author Jennifer Walkup is most often found writing, reading, and […]

Bloggiesta Mini Challenge: Joining in as a New Blogger & Giveaway

Bloggiesta Mini Challenge: Joining in as a New Blogger & Giveaway

As a new blogger, it can be really hard to join in. I know this from experience as I’ve been blogging for only 5 months. When you jump into blogging, it can be very intimidating because you are entering in a small community of tight knit friends. Beginning blogging, I noticed the friendships and the community right away and all I could think was, “THAT! That’s what I want.” Still it was daunting to jump in. I often wondered (and sometimes still do), what I have to offer this community that isn’t already here. So how did I get past that and start making friends? Two very important ways. The first is an attitude adjustment on my part. I am the only one of me in existence and I try to remember that I enrich this community just by being myself. I admit, this is a bit of a struggle for me. However, everyday I remind myself that I’m enough. You are too. Second, I say yes. When I see an opportunity to join and be a part of something in the blogging world, I jump at the chance. I’ve only been blogging for 5 months, however, I’m part of 2 street teams and tour host for several tours. I’m participating in #OTSPSecretSister and I’ve made tons of friends there. I’m a blogger pen pal. I was matched up with […]

What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi Published by Sourcebooks on August 4th 2015 Pages: 320 Format: ebook Source: Free for Review, Netgalley Goodreads ItÂ’s all RydenÂ’s fault. If he hadnÂ’t gotten Meg pregnant, she would have never stopped her chemo treatments and would still be alive. Instead, heÂ’s failing fatherhood one dirty diaper at a time. And itÂ’s not like heÂ’s had time to grieve while struggling to care for their infant daughter, start his senior year, and earn the soccer scholarship he needs to go to college. The one person who makes Ryden feel like his old self is Joni. SheÂ’s fun and energetic—and doesnÂ’t know he has a baby. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to keep his two worlds separate. Finding one of MegÂ’s journals only stirs up old emotions, and RydenÂ’s convinced Meg left other notebooks for him to find, some message to help his new life make sense. But how is he going to have a future if he canÂ’t let go of the past?   I’m so excited to have Jessica Verdi on my blog today. I really liked What You Left Behind. I was lucky enough to read an ARC of it and I wrote a review earlier this month. Thanks for having me on your blog, Emily! 1. Tell us a little about yourself and your […]

Blog Tour Review and Giveaway: Marry Me, Charlotte B!

Blog Tour Review and Giveaway: Marry Me, Charlotte B!

Welcome to the Fandomly Bookish blog tour! This is the first one I’ve been invited to do. I love free books as much as the next girl, so I hope that I’m invited back! If you like free books too, then read to the end for the giveaway! Synopsis Nellie Canlas loves her job. She loves being assistant to reality TV star and wedding planner goddess, the fabulous Charlotte Bertram, and she loves working with couples to make their wedding dreams come true. What she doesn’t love is having cameras following her all the time, especially when sheÂ’s crushing hard on the lawyer from another floor.  Robert Bertram doesn’t like planning weddings. He doesn’t like being on TV either. But when he finds himself in possession of NellieÂ’s diary, he thinks he can turn her into anyoneÂ’s dream girl. If he doesn’t fall for her first. Published: 4/30/15 by Midnight Books Genre: New Adult Goodreads – Amazon – Smashwords Things I liked I loved the premise of this book. There are so many reality shows on TV but this is the first book I’ve read that tries to capture that feeling. The story is really cute and I thought that the premise was very original. Its unusual to find a way to approach a romance that hasn’t been attempted before and I think Carla De Guzman succeeded there! Nellie is a […]

GIVEAWAY! Bad Kid by David Crabb

GIVEAWAY! Bad Kid by David Crabb

I got a 2 big bags of books from the Texas Library association and I want to share the wealth.  I have enough books to give away one a week until TLA 2016! For the first book I chose Bad Kid by David Crabb. I really enjoyed Bad Kid. Its hilarious and irreverent. David Crabb’s coming of age was filled with terrible choices and ridiculous mishaps. You will want to read this book just to see what he did. Luckily, you can win one today! BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! I connected with David Crabb on twitter and he is incredibly nice.  I explained that I have a lot of blind friends. That comes with the territory of our second (third? fourth?) job.  I asked him if he would be willing to provide me with an e-book copy of his book. Obviously he said yes, because he’s an amazing person. So even if you don’t read print, there’s an option. I can’t guarantee that every giveaway will include an accessible option. Being a braille teacher, I think accessibility is incredibly important. However, I’m a sighted person and I read print so ultimately I will have more access to print books for giveaways. Enough talk! Enter the contest below. a Rafflecopter giveaway
