Sunday Street Team: Interview with Jessica Verdi

Sunday Street Team: Interview with Jessica Verdi

What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi Published by Sourcebooks on August 4th 2015 Pages: 320 Format: ebook Source: Free for Review, Netgalley Goodreads ItÂ’s all RydenÂ’s fault. If he hadnÂ’t gotten Meg pregnant, she would have never stopped her chemo treatments and would still be alive. Instead, heÂ’s failing fatherhood one dirty diaper at a time. And itÂ’s not like heÂ’s had time to grieve while struggling to care for their infant daughter, start his senior year, and earn the soccer scholarship he needs to go to college. The one person who makes Ryden feel like his old self is Joni. SheÂ’s fun and energetic—and doesnÂ’t know he has a baby. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to keep his two worlds separate. Finding one of MegÂ’s journals only stirs up old emotions, and RydenÂ’s convinced Meg left other notebooks for him to find, some message to help his new life make sense. But how is he going to have a future if he canÂ’t let go of the past?   I’m so excited to have Jessica Verdi on my blog today. I really liked What You Left Behind. I was lucky enough to read an ARC of it and I wrote a review earlier this month. Thanks for having me on your blog, Emily! 1. Tell us a little about yourself and your […]

SBPT Sunday: The Petite Book Blogger

SBPT Sunday: The Petite Book Blogger

Today I am really excited to introduce you to Victoria, the Petite Book Blogger! Victoria is a homeschool student who loves museums, traveling and movies. I was so impressed to learn that she is fluent in English and Spanish and working on Italian! She’s obviously smart, working on genealogy with her mother and has remarkable convictions, being a vegetarian for ethical reasons. Besides blogging, her hobby is photography. She was kind enough to allow me to feature a few of her pictures on my blog today. Photography allows you to see through the artist’s eyes. With these pictures, Victoria gives us a glimpse of her unique vision. She uses lighting and texture in her compositions to create different effects. I especially like her picture of rocks with the intentional or unintentional hearts. I hope you enjoy this rare opportunity to experience a blogger’s other hobby! Enjoy.

SBPT Sunday: Mia in Narnia

SBPT Sunday: Mia in Narnia

Hi everyone, I’m Mia from Mia in Narnia, and I’m really excited to be on Emily’s blog today for the SBPT! Today I’m going to be talking about favourite books/ book series. This was almost impossible for me to write there are so many books that I love, and my list of favourite books changes all the time but I finally managed to pick ten of my favourite books. Obviously, these books are massively recommended by me and I definitely think you should read them if you haven’t already! In no particular order… THE BOOK THIEF – MARKUS ZUSAK This book is so, so beautiful. The writing is incredible, the characters are unforgettable and the ending will break your heart. If you want a heart warming, inspirational and emotional story set against the backdrop of Nazi Germany then this is definitely the book for you. THE INFERNAL DEVICES TRILOGY – CASSANDRA CLARE I know I said these books were in no particular order, but The Infernal Devices is my favourite book series of all time. It has just the right amount of romance and action for me, and the characters in it are some the best I’ve ever read about (Jem Carstairs is the love of my life). Also, I love anything set in London or the Victorian Era, and TID has both! THE FAULT IN OUR STARS – JOHN GREEN You might be […]

SBPT Sunday: Introducing The Regal Critiques

SBPT Sunday: Introducing The Regal Critiques

Veronika from Reading is Dreaming with Open Eyes is now Veronika from The Regal Critiques. I’m so excited that Ruzaika (her new co-blogger) and Veronika are both here today to talk about the new direction of their blog.   Hi everyone. IÂ’m Veronika from The Regal Critiques and IÂ’m so SO excited to be teamed up with the lovely Emily here. A few months ago I decided to add a co-blogger to my blog and, based on EmilyÂ’s idea, IÂ’m going to tell you a bit about the reasons for my choice. Next to that Ruzaika, my new co-blogger wrote a bit about herself and the start of our wonderful friendship. We hope youÂ’ll enjoy our post. 🙂 ‘Should I try co-blogging?’ was a question that used to come to my mind all the time. However much fun co-blogging has always looked like to me, the answer to that question strictly stayed no. One day, though, on an impulse I asked Ruzaika if she has ever been interested in blogging and if yes, would she consider co-blogging on Reading Is Dreaming with Open Eyes (now re-named The Regal Critiques). In this post IÂ’m going to list 6 reasons why you should definitely consider co-blogging. Hope youÂ’ll enjoy. Blogging can get stressful but as soon as you have a co-blogger you donÂ’t have to carry all the weight on your shoulders alone. Most […]

SBPT Sunday: The Book Bratz

SBPT Sunday: The Book Bratz

As you all know, I’m participating in the 2015 Summer Blogger Promo Tour. Its running from July 5th – August 12th. Today I’d like to introduce you to the creative team behind SBPT themselves, The Book Bratz. Jessica, is an avid (and already published) writer and reader, and Amber is a Speed Reader Extraordinaire. they’ve been blogging for over a year now. They are both fond of movies, books, cute boys, and chocolate. For their intro post, I asked them to choose their favorite blog post so I could feature it here. They introduced me to a kerfuffle that shock the blogger world last year. An author, Amy Spaulding, made a Bingo Card that hurt a lot of feelings. You can see it here if you have no idea what I’m talking about. I didn’t when I saw this post. The wonderful thing about Jessica and Amber is that instead of being hurt, they focused on why authors and readers love and appreciate each other and worked to bring the community back together. Thanks to them for their empathy! Let’s Talk: Blogger & Author Appreciation Originally posted here. Blogger & Author Appreciation   Recently, some tension has developed among the blogging and writing communities. (If you know of the whole “Bingo Card” extravaganza, you know what we’re talking about.) Us ladies here at The Book Bratz have decided to reach out […]

SBPT Sunday: Afterlife Special with Offbeat YA

SBPT Sunday: Afterlife Special with Offbeat YA

Roberta R. is a senior blogger with a penchant for YA books. Her love of music has landed her a job as a host for a local radio station. Her fancy for TV series,  from police procedural to sci-fi to urban fantasy, causes her to experiment wild adventures with too many fictional characters in her night dreams. Her urge to spread the love for overlooked YA novels drove her to start her blog, Offbeat YA, in 2012. It started with a book. It always does. In 1997, I stumbled upon the blurb of a 8 year old Christopher Pike novel, Remember Me, in the YA section of a book catalogue. Please take special note of the following: I wasn’t familiar with his stuff, or with the whole YA phenomenon for that matter (what with being in Italy); I was already past the age of reading YA novels…or so I thought. I was only going through the whole catalogue because I’d read pretty much anything, telephone address books included. But the image of a deceased girl who sets on investigating her own murder began to haunt me to the point that I impulsively went out and bought the book. Little did I know at the time that such a simple action would have started my love affair with afterlife novels…and Pike himself (I mean his writer persona of course…). The fact is, I simply love everything about afterlife novels. […]

Welcome to the Fandomly Bookish blog tour! This is the first one I’ve been invited to do. I love free books as much as the next girl, so I hope that I’m invited back! If you like free books too, then read to the end for the giveaway! Synopsis Nellie Canlas loves her job. She loves being assistant to reality TV star and wedding planner goddess, the fabulous Charlotte Bertram, and she loves working with couples to make their wedding dreams come true. What she doesn’t love is having cameras following her all the time, especially when sheÂ’s crushing hard on the lawyer from another floor.  Robert Bertram doesn’t like planning weddings. He doesn’t like being on TV either. But when he finds himself in possession of NellieÂ’s diary, he thinks he can turn her into anyoneÂ’s dream girl. If he doesn’t fall for her first. Published: 4/30/15 by Midnight Books Genre: New Adult Goodreads – Amazon – Smashwords Things I liked I loved the premise of this book. There are so many reality shows on TV but this is the first book I’ve read that tries to capture that feeling. The story is really cute and I thought that the premise was very original. Its unusual to find a way to approach a romance that hasn’t been attempted before and I think Carla De Guzman succeeded there! Nellie is a […]
