The Perfect Lazy Day

I was challenged by Leesa’s mattresses to come up with my idea of a perfect lazy day! This is NOT a sponsored post.  I received nothing in exchange for this. It just sounded like a fun post idea. All opinions are my own.

I live in Texas and so there are very few cold days in the winter. Usually the winter is a balmy 60-75 degrees but there are the occasional day where it’s in the 30s or 40s. The cold days are the perfect ones to stay under the covers. There’s nothing better on a chilly day than to stay in bed, dozing til noon. Unfortunately, in my house I sleep at the pleasure of my benevolent overlords, Joss, a doberman and Sansa, a mutt.

They will definitely wake me up before I’m ready.  That’s ok. They are adorable and worth it.

Reading is comfort for me. I read when I’m stressed or worried. It is the ultimate escape. There’s nothing better than cracking open a book and curling up for a long uninterrupted day of reading. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a brand new story or an old favorite, a book always takes all my worries away. If I’m imagining my perfect lazy day though, I’m definitely rereading an old favorite. Probably something by Stephen King, to be honest. He’s been one of my favorite authors since I was in Jr. High School!

When I’m reading, I’m either sitting in a huge over stuffed chair I have in my living room or I’m in bed, curled up on a great mattress!. I always cuddle up with my favorite blanket. My current favorite is a quilt I got for my birthday. A friend quilted the entire braille alphabet for me and did an amazing job. You can see a picture here (Braille Quilt). Whether in the chair or in bed, you can bet at least one dog is keeping me company!

On a perfect lazy day, I wouldn’t change out of my pajamas at all. My husband would take care of both lunch and dinner. He would either cook or pick up but the best part would be that I wouldn’t have to decide what we were having! I would spend the entire day curled up with my books, toasty warm under a blanket.

When’s the last time you had a perfect lazy day?

What do you envision for yours?
