In the #1 New York Times bestselling Mercy Thompson novels, the coyote shapeshifter has found her voice in the werewolf pack. But when Mercy's bond with the pack and her mate is broken, she'll learn what it truly means to be alone...
Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form, Mercy escapes only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in the heart of Europe...
Unable to contact Adam and the rest of the pack, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. And in the heart of the ancient city of Prague, old ghosts rise...

We all have our auto-buy authors. Those authors that we buy no matter what they write and when. Patricia Briggs is definitely one of mine. I fell in love with Mercy Thompson years ago with the first book in the series, Moon Called. This series has high stakes and relate-able characters. It’s not easy to read or even easy to like sometimes but it keeps me coming back. I have to know what happens next to Mercy and Adam. This next one is no exception. It sounds like Mercy has gotten herself in real trouble, far away without her support system. I can’t wait to see what happens.

Patricia Briggs will be in Houston as part of her release tour and I will be there! I’m waiting to buy this one until I’m there so I can have her sign it. It’s makes the wait longer, but it’s worth it!

Tensions between the fae and humans are coming to a head. And when coyote shapeshifter Mercy and her Alpha werewolf mate, Adam, are called upon to stop a rampaging troll, they find themselves with something that could be used to make the fae back down and forestall out-and-out war: a human child stolen long ago by the fae.
Defying the most powerful werewolf in the country, the humans, and the fae, Mercy, Adam, and their pack choose to protect the boy no matter what the cost. But who will protect them from a boy who is fire touched?

It’s very hard to review long running series. I know some people manage it and I’m always in awe of them. Fire touched is book 9 though. How can I tell you about it without spoiling things that happened in books 1-8. It’s impossible. This series has gotten complicated and intricate and that’s exactly how I like it.

I loved that Fire Touched brought the fae back into the limelight. Patricia Briggs has a really interested take on Fairy and I love learning more about it. In her world there are Fae, Vampires, Witches, an entire Werewolf subculture and just a few coyote shifters. One is Mercy. Every book focuses on Mercy, she is the main character, but each book individually focuses on a different subset of the paranormal world.

If you’ve already started the series and you are on the fence whether to continue, please keep reading! I thought Fire Touched was the best series continuation in a long while. This book definitely made me realize that Mercy still has a long way to go and I can’t wait to read it.

If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for? The best part of these books is the relationship between the characters. There is great character development from book to book. Real changes take place. The best part though, is that Patricia Briggs writes real relationships. NO endless will they/won’t they, NO endless love triangles, NO endless uncertainty. Plus these books are full of action, adventures, plot twists and reveals. Highly recommend!
